Erica Kamerzel

Youth Programs Manager, Camp Director, Staff Naturalist

Erica grew up in central New Jersey, where she explored coastal barrier islands, forests, mountains, and all the places in between. She has lived in New England for nearly a decade, falling in love over and over again with its diverse ecology, fascinating history, and wonderful people. This love for the outdoors has led her through a rich and varied career in the outdoor environmental education world, developing and teaching school-based programs with nature centers, promoting Leave No Trace education to hikers on mountaintops, teaching snowboarding to unsuspecting victims throughout New England, and more.
Erica’s favorite part of rock climbing is how it helps us build relationships with the natural world, the people around us, and with ourselves. 

When not working as Petra Cliffs’ Youth Programs Manager and Camp Director, Erica can be found riding her bike with her partner, foraging, gardening, and taking her dog Maple on long rambles in the woods.
