Front Desk Staff

Desired availability: Saturdays from 3:30/4 -10pm with the ability to pick up other shifts as needed.

This position is great for someone who loves to get to know their local climbing community, join a crew of passionate individuals and is eager to help climbers grow. Benefits include a free gym membership*, continued education in all aspects of climbing, and discounts on courses. Experience working with youth preferred. 

Climbing Team Coach

Petra Cliffs is searching for qualified coaches to lead our high-level youth climbing teams. Coaches are responsible for creating and implementing training schedules and workouts, as well as running practices. The coach will work closely with the Youth Programs Manager to ensure that instruction is helping the kids improve technique, strength, and route reading skills. Some coaching positions will include developing and communicating about opportunities for involvement with the local climbing community.

SumMAT Day Camp Leader

Petra Cliffs Climbing Center & Mountaineering School is looking for passionate, self-motivated, creative, and fun people to join our summer camp staff. Summer Mountain Adventure Training Camp (SumMAT Camp – “summit”) is an outdoor adventure camp that gets kids and staff outside every day! This position is full-time Monday – Friday (June 17- August 23) with one week of staff training from June 10-14. Each day of camp will start and end at Petra Cliffs Climbing Center in Burlington, but our adventures take us everywhere. Every day brings a new activity: indoor and outdoor climbing, caving, kayaking, ropes course climbing / team building, and hiking!

SumMAT Overnight Expedition Leader

Petra Cliffs Climbing Center & Mountaineering School is looking for passionate, self-motivated, creative, and fun people to join our summer camp staff. This position is part-time, and trip-based, with one full day of staff training on Saturday, June 1st, 2024. Petra Cliffs offers multiple trip lengths ranging from 4 days to 11 days, and are a mix of co-ed and gender-inclusive. Each trip will start and end at Petra Cliffs Climbing Center in Burlington, but our adventures take us throughout New England. Trip itineraries can include a mix of any of the following: indoor and outdoor climbing, caving, kayaking, ropes course climbing / team building, and hiking!

SumMAT Camp Rock Climbing Specialist

Petra Cliffs Climbing Center and Mountaineering School is looking for an AMGA Single Pitch Instructor to join our team as the SumMAT Camp Rock Specialist. Summer Mountain Adventure Training Camp (SumMAT Camp – “summit”) is an outdoor adventure camp that gets kids and staff outside every day! This position helps facilitate outdoor educational adventure programming for ages 6-16 in our surrounding climbing areas. The summer season of June 12th - August 25th is a full time, seasonal position. 

SumMAT Camp Kayak Specialist

Petra Cliffs Climbing Center and Mountaineering School is looking for a kayak instructor to join our team as the SumMAT Camp Kayak Specialist. Summer Mountain Adventure Training Camp (SumMAT Camp – “summit”) is an outdoor adventure camp that gets kids and staff outside every day! This position helps facilitate outdoor educational adventure programming for ages 6-16 on our surrounding rivers, reservoirs, ponds and lakes. The summer season of June 10 - August 23 is a full time, seasonal position.
