In the wake of COVID-19, Petra Cliffs, along with its guides and instructors, are taking additional precautions to keep you safe. At this time, we are available to guide small groups and individuals who agree to adhere to best practices and are showing no signs or symptoms. Vermont's Year-Round Climbing School
Offering the finest in Rock, Ice, Ski and Mountain Climbing Instruction in New England, the Adirondacks, and around the globe
Go farther with mountain adventure. Learn new skills to make you a safer and more efficient climber or skier, or take part in coursework to further your education as an Instructor or Guide.
Our expert guides will provide a fun yet challenging learning experience tailored specifically to your goals. Whether it is your first day with a harness on, a day climbing some classic ‘Dacks routes or learning to lead steep ice, Petra Cliffs offers a complete outdoor instruction curriculum, catering to groups of all sizes and to individuals of all ages and abilities.
Courses can be taken on any day by private arrangement or in a class format during our scheduled open enrollment courses. Private Instruction is preferable for small groups of friends, or for those who wish to maximize their learning opportunities through an instructor’s individualized attention. Open enrollment courses are the least expensive option for students who wish to work on specific skills. Some of our courses require a very low student to instructor ratio and are only offered as private instruction.
Petra Cliffs guides hold experience and certifications through organizations such as the AMGA, AIARE, NOLS, ACA, and have a minimum of Wilderness First Responder & CPR certifications.
