Youth Leadership Expedition

A hybrid 6-day program with a 1-night overnight expedition with a focus on outdoor leadership development for teens.

This program will introduce campers to basic leadership and communication styles through many of the usual Petra Cliffs outdoor camp adventures, but with an extra emphasis on experiential learning! Each day of this program builds on itself, starting with a day of indoor climbing and ice breakers before diving into outdoor adventures at the Bolton Adventure Center and local climbing crags, and culminating in a backpacking overnight on the Long Trail. Short readings, reflection, and guided discussion are sprinkled throughout each day.

By offering opportunities to learn, apply, and reflect on their experiences camping, hiking, and climbing, Youth Leadership Expedition participants will get to know what outdoor education is all about!
