Erica came to the outdoor experiential education world thanks in large part to a childhood spent exploring and playing in beautiful natural spaces in and around Central New Jersey. That formative time on coastal barrier islands, in salt marshes and forests, and hiking snowy mountains brought her to New England more than a decade ago, and she never left.

This love for the outdoors has led her through a rich and varied career in the outdoor environmental education world, developing and teaching school-based programs with nature centers; promoting Leave No Trace education to hikers on mountaintops; teaching folks how to slide on snow; and most recently, facilitating rock climbing and adventure education experiences for youth at Petra Cliffs.

When not working as Petra Cliffs’ Youth Programs Manager & Camp Director, Erica can be found gardening, backpacking, gravel biking, and taking her dog Maple on long rambles in the woods.

Erica’s favorite piece of outdoor gear is her ENO JungleNest hammock.
