Chic Choc, Parc de la Gaspesie, Quebec, Canada

The Chic Chocs located in the Parc De La Gaspese in Quebec Canada is home to some of the finest backcountry skiing and ski mountaineering terrain on the entire east coast.  Only a 9 hour drive north of Petra Cliffs the Parc is home to an average annual snowfall of over 370 cm.  This place is a magnet for Nor'easter and March offers up a 69% chance of new precip daily! This means we have an opportunity to find fresh goods daily.

We try to keep an open itinerary to chase the best snow, but common descents include; Mur De Patroulleurs and the Grand Cuve on Mont Albert, Mont Blanche Lamontagne, Champ De Mars, Mount Hog's Back, Mont Vallières-de-Saint-Réal and my personal favorite Mont Lyall! Climbs average between 30 minutes and 3 hours depending on the objective and ascends 100-350 meters, which allows us to get several laps per day.

Lodging will be located between the Parc and Murdochville. After each day of touring there will be time to relax in our accommodations.
