Demery Coppola

Naturalist and Climbing Instructor

Demery was an Environmental Science and Political Science major at Saint Michael's College, where she was able to nurture a connection between people, place, and play. She began her own journey up rock in 2016, and hasn't been able to stop since! Since she came to Vermont, she has found a way to spend as much time possible under the sun (or in the rain!) whether it be climbing, mountaineering, skiing, whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, cycling, or just wandering in the woods! Demery has many seasons of trail work, stewardship, and nature-based education under her belt, and always has a fun fact up her sleeve.

She spends her time in the gym teaching climbers of all ability levels, dangling on the ropes course during Friday Night Kid's Club, leading naturalist programs, teaching the University of Vermont PEAC class, and crushing whole bars of chocolate between climbs. Demery has run the gambit of almost every program we offer; she has been a SUMMAT Camp counselor, kayak specialist, youth team coach, assistant guide, and of course front desk staff.
