Job Summary - SumMAT Assistant Camp Director
Seasonal, Part Time / Internship

Petra Cliffs Climbing Center and Mountaineering School is looking for an energetic and organized candidate to join the leadership team as the SumMAT Camp Assistant Director. This seasonal position helps facilitate both indoor and outdoor educational adventure programming for ages 6-18. The summer season will run from June 12th - August 25th. Perfect for an Internship! 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Aid in SumMAT Camp registration and maintain working knowledge of the system throughout the summer season
  • Assist Camp Director in organization of weekly group logistics, including camper group assignments and activities
  • Interact with parents and families during pick up and drop off each day
  • Collaborate on camp social media presence, photo site, and advertising
  • Communicate with collaborating schools/outside programs to support program goals and activities
  • Correspond with personnel of partner organizations in a professional manner regarding matters affecting program goals and activities
  • Safeguard emotional and physical well being of campers and staff
  • Maintain ability to facilitate quality programming in the absence of other program staff
  • Assume other duties as requested by SumMAT Camp Director

Required Qualifications 

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Experience in staff management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google apps
  • Excellent customer service experience
  • Previous work in youth development programs
  • Excellent organizational skills 

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems
  • Previous rock climbing experience
  • Knowledge of the outdoor industry

Required Licenses / Certifications

  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of a current Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certification
  • Valid CPR certification

Compensation: Salary commensurate with education, training and experience.
