Gym to Crag Transitions Clinic

Gym to Crag can take on many forms, from taking your climbing movement onto real rock, to learning how to set up anchors, lead climb, and learn rescue systems. Gym to Crag can be done with a Private Guide any time, or by joining into an open-enrollment course. 

LGBTQ+ Affinity Gym-to-Crag

This Gym-to-Crag course will be taught by Petra Cliffs guide Dylan Thomas. It will be focused on transitioning from lead climbing indoors to lead climbing outdoors, and other considerations specific to outdoor climbing including cleaning anchors, rappelling, belaying, stick clipping, risk management and rescue scenarios. 

2023 Dates: (all dates must be attended)
Tuesday, May 9: 5:30-9pm
Wednesday, May 10: 5:30-9pm
Saturday, May 13: 9am-4pm

Prerequisites:
Applicants must have lead climbing experience or a gym lead climbing certification, and be competently lead climbing at 5.8 or higher.

Trip Details

Includes: Professional rock guide and all technical climbing equipment (harness, helmet, shoes, belay devices, ropes and all other appropriate technical equipment).

Does not include: Personal gear, food, water and clothing (see equipment list for what to bring)
