Summer Equipment Check List
What to wear
We will be outside and active all day except in inclement weather. Plan on wearing comfortable, loose fitting clothes that can get dirty. Dress in layers that can be put on and taken off as necessary.
Please remember that cotton, when wet, can rob the body of valuable heat. Weather in Vermont is fickle! Be prepared!
For Rock Climbing and Hiking Programs
- A good-sized daypack (backpack)
- Rain jacket
- A warm layer (Fleece)
- Sneakers or hiking boots
- A bag lunch with some extra snacks
- 2 Quarts of Water
- Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen
- Bug repellent
(No DEET for climbing trips- it destroys our nylon ropes!) - Any of your own climbing equipment which you would like to use
For Kayaking and Canoeing Programs
- A day pack or dry bag
- Bathing suit and towel
- Rain jacket
- A warm layer (Fleece)
- Closed-toe water shoes
(old sneakers are good- no sandals please) - A bag lunch with some extra snacks
- 2 Quarts of Water
- Any of your own boating equipment which you would like to use
- A change of clothing
